Sour cream sauce with cucumber

Sour cream sauce with cucumber is a classic of Greek cuisine, a refreshing and aromatic sauce that perfectly complements meat and vegetable dishes. Its roots go back to traditional Mediterranean recipes where cucumber and sour cream create a harmonious duet that adds tenderness and lightness to food. The refreshing taste of cucumber combines with the spiciness of garlic and the flavor of dill, while the addition of mayonnaise makes the texture richer. This sauce pairs wonderfully with roasted meat, fish, potatoes, or even as a dip for fresh vegetables. It is easy to prepare and requires only a short time to infuse for the flavors to fully develop. Its delicate texture and rich taste make it an excellent choice for summer dishes and festive gatherings.

1
Prepare the ingredients: peel the cucumber, clean the garlic, wash the dill, and cut off its tough stems.
- Cucumbers: 100 g
- Garlic: 4 cloves
- Young dill: 25 g

2
Chop the dill and garlic (garlic can be pressed through a garlic press). Grate the cucumber on a coarse grater and squeeze out all the moisture (this is important for the sauce not to be watery).

3
Thoroughly mix the ingredients and let the sauce sit for 10-20 minutes. Add salt to taste.
- Salt: to taste
