Cheese Flatbreads

Cheese flatbreads are a cozy homemade dish of Russian cuisine that originated from the traditions of simple yet delicious village breakfasts. Their base is soft kefir dough, making the flatbreads airy and slightly tangy. Grated hard cheese gives them a rich creamy flavor, while added sausage turns them into a hearty snack. Fried in a pan until golden brown, the flatbreads become crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. They can be served as a standalone dish with sour cream or fresh vegetables or used as an original version of a hot sandwich. They are perfect for a cozy family breakfast or a light snack on the go.
