Ham and cheese puff pastry is a refined example of Italian cuisine that combines the tenderness of dough with the rich aromas of ham, cheese, and onion. This dish is inspired by traditional Italian appetizers that highlight the natural flavors of the ingredients. The crispy puff pastry envelops a juicy filling, creating a harmony of textures. The light sweetness of the onion complements the saltiness of the ham, while melted cheese adds a silky richness to the dish. These pastries are perfect for breakfast, a light snack, or an elegant appetizer at a festive table. They not only surprise with their taste but also delight the eye with artistic dough decoration in the form of intertwined ribbons. The simplicity of preparation makes this recipe accessible even for beginners, and the result is invariably delightful.

1
Roll out the dough (one half) not too thin.
- Yeast-free puff pastry: 1 piece
2
Slice the onion into half rings, cut the ham into medium-thick strips, and grate the cheese on a coarse grater.
- Onion: 1 piece
- Turkey ham: 300 g
- Cheese: 200 g
3
Make cuts at the edges of the dough (strips will form), place onions in the center of the dough, then ham and cheese, then weave the 'strips' by crossing them over each other. Secure the dough at the sides to prevent juice from leaking. Bake for no more than 25 minutes.
- Onion: 1 piece
- Turkey ham: 300 g
- Cheese: 200 g
