Fakorizo is a traditional Greek dish that combines the nutritious properties of lentils and rice. Its roots go back to ancient times when such simple yet hearty dishes formed the basis of the Greek diet. Tomatoes, fragrant cumin, and golden onions give Fakorizo a rich, slightly spicy flavor with a hint of acidity. Lentils make the dish rich in protein, while rice adds softness and a delicate texture. Fakorizo is great as a standalone dish or as a side to meat and fish. Vegetarians appreciate it for its balance and richness. It pairs especially well with a piece of fresh bread and a drizzle of olive oil. This is an ideal option for those seeking delicious and healthy food with historical heritage.
