Egg, cheese, and sriracha sauce sandwiches are a spicy and appetizing combination of classic ingredients enhanced with Eastern heat. Their history begins with traditional European hot sandwiches but over time they gained a unique character thanks to the addition of sriracha sauce. Crispy toasted bread soaked in an egg mixture creates a tender yet dense base, while melted cheddar adds a rich, creamy flavor. The spicy note of sriracha harmoniously completes the composition, making the dish an ideal choice for lovers of spicy snacks. These sandwiches are perfect for a hearty breakfast or a light snack at any time of day. They can be served with greens, fresh vegetables, or even an extra serving of hot sauce for even more flavor enjoyment.

1
Preheat the grill to medium heat. Season the egg mixture well with salt and pepper and pour it into a shallow bowl. Dip the bread slices into the egg mixture one at a time, pressing down to soak them well.
- Chicken egg: 4 pieces
- White bread: 4 pieces
2
Sprinkle half of the grated cheese on 2 slices of bread, cover with the remaining 2 slices to make a sandwich.
- Cheddar cheese: 60 g
3
Heat the pan and add butter. When it starts to foam, place the sandwiches in the pan. If both sandwiches don't fit at once, you can fry them alternately using half the butter.
- Butter: 25 g
4
After a couple of minutes, when the bread slices stick together and a golden crust forms, flip them and fry on the other side as well. Once the sandwiches are fried, transfer them to a baking tray.
5
Sprinkle the remaining cheese on top, then place the baking tray under the grill for 2-3 minutes until the cheese melts. Serve with sriracha sauce or another hot sauce.
- Cheddar cheese: 60 g
- Sriracha: to taste
