Portuguese Cod Croquettes

Portuguese cod croquettes are a true embodiment of traditional Portuguese cuisine. They originated in fishing villages where cod was a primary food source. The crispy golden crust hides a tender filling of aromatic mashed potatoes, juicy cod fillet, and fresh herbs. A light garlic accent adds depth to the dish, while fresh lemon juice provides a bright tanginess that highlights the fish's ocean freshness. The croquettes are perfect as an appetizer for family gatherings or as part of a festive meal. They are served with aioli sauce or a simple green salad, creating a harmony of flavors. This dish pays homage to Portuguese culinary traditions, combining simplicity and sophistication in every bite.
