Chicken in orange juice is an amazing combination of tender meat and bright citrus flavor. This dish, inspired by European cuisine, achieves a special harmony thanks to the sweet-spicy sauce with orange notes. Its ease of preparation makes it an ideal option for both family dinners and festive tables. Baked or fried chicken covered with velvety sauce acquires an appetizing golden crust, while the aroma of fresh herbs completes the picture. The juicy and rich taste makes this dish versatile – it pairs excellently with sides from rice to fresh vegetables. Unpretentious yet elegant, it is perfect for those looking to add a bit of gastronomic sunshine to their everyday cooking.

1
Preheat the oven to 180°.
2
Cut the chicken breast into portion-sized pieces, about 3 cm.
3
In a deep bowl, mix three eggs, a teaspoon of salt, and a bit of hot sauce.
- Chicken egg: 3 pieces
- Salt: 2 teaspoons
- Spicy tomato sauce: 5 tablespoon
4
Add pieces of chicken to the mixture and mix everything well.
- Chicken fillet: 2 pieces
5
In a flat plate, mix flour, remaining salt, and a little black pepper.
- Wheat flour: 1 glass
- Salt: 2 teaspoons
- Ground black pepper: 0.5 teaspoon
6
Coat each piece of chicken in flour and place on foil.
- Chicken fillet: 2 pieces
- Wheat flour: 1 glass
7
If desired, instead of baking in the oven, you can simply fry the chicken in a pan.
8
Bake the breasts for about 15 minutes at 180°.
9
Put them under the grill for about five minutes to brown.
10
While the chicken is cooking, prepare the sauce.
11
For this, mix half a cup of mayonnaise, 4-5 tablespoons of sweet and spicy sauce, the zest of half an orange, and half a cup of orange juice. Stir until a homogeneous liquid mass is achieved.
- Mayonnaise: 5 tablespoon
- Spicy tomato sauce: 5 tablespoon
- Orange zest: 0.5 piece
- Orange juice: 0.5 glass
12
Pour the sauce into the pan and bring to a light boil over medium heat.
- Spicy tomato sauce: 5 tablespoon
13
Place the cooked chicken in the sauce and mix thoroughly to ensure all pieces of breast are coated with the sauce. The flour on the chicken will add extra thickness and clarity to the sauce.
- Chicken fillet: 2 pieces
14
Once the sauce thickens to the desired consistency, turn off the heat and add chopped green onions (you can use any herbs to your taste)
- Green onions: to taste
15
It can be served as a standalone dish or with any side.
