Rice with onions Bulgarian style is a simple yet exquisite dish that reflects the spirit of Bulgarian cuisine. Its roots go back to the traditions of rural families where the ability to create rich flavors from simple ingredients was key to true mastery. Tender, slightly caramelized onions give the rice a sweet, deep aroma while butter makes it velvety. The golden grains soaked in butter acquire an appetizing texture. This dish can serve as a standalone meal or a harmonious side to meat, chicken, fish, and vegetables. It beautifully complements home-cooked lunches, providing warmth and comfort of traditional cuisine.
