Chicken drumsticks in ginger marinade are a true delight for lovers of Chinese cuisine. This recipe embodies a harmony of flavors: spicy ginger, pungent garlic, warming sweetness of honey, and refreshing hint of lemon. Historically, Chinese cuisine widely uses marinades to enhance the meat's flavor and make it juicier. The marinade penetrates deep into the chicken's texture thanks to slits, while the honey glaze gives an appetizing golden crust. The result is aromatic, slightly caramelized meat with a rich bouquet of flavor nuances. The dish is perfect for both everyday dinners and festive tables, offering a gastronomic journey into the depths of Chinese culinary tradition.

1
Finely chop the garlic, crush it in a mortar with coarse salt to make a paste. Add grated or shredded fresh ginger and pepper.
- Garlic: 4 cloves
- Sea salt: 0.5 teaspoon
- Ginger: 100 g
- Ground black pepper: 0.3 teaspoon
2
Add liquid honey and lemon juice. If you have opaque, crystallized honey, warm it slightly in the microwave. Mix the marinade ingredients well.
- Linden honey: 50 g
- Lemon juice: 45 ml
3
Wash the shanks with cold water and dry them. Make three cuts on each shank on both sides down to the bone with a sharp knife. This way, the marinade will penetrate the meat more easily and the chicken will cook faster.
- Chicken drumstick: 800 g
4
Coat the shins with the prepared marinade, cover, and leave in a cool place for 1-2 hours. Stir once during the marinating process.
5
Fry the drumsticks over medium heat on all sides until golden brown. Be careful, the honey marinade browns quickly! Then cover with a lid and cook on low heat for 10-15 minutes until done.
- Vegetable oil: 30 ml
