The recipe is based on mushrooms gently stewed with onions, sweet peppers, and tomato paste that create a rich, slightly spicy sauce. Hungarian culinary traditions are known for their combination of vibrant flavors and textures, and this goulash is no exception. It can be served with mashed potatoes, fresh bread or even as a side to meat dishes. Mushroom goulash is not just food; it embodies the taste of the Hungarian soul that combines the simplicity of rural traditions with the richness of aromas.

1
Chop the onions finely, heat vegetable oil in a pan, and add the onions to fry.
- Onion: 2 pieces
2
Slice the mushrooms and add them to the onions - they need some time to fry together.
- Fresh mushrooms: 600 g
3
Meanwhile, we clean the sweet pepper from all excess and cut it into cubes. It will also go into the pan with the mushrooms and onions — now let everything stew together!
- Green bell pepper: 2 pieces
4
Sprinkle the mushrooms with stewed vegetables with flour.
- Wheat flour: 2 tablespoons
5
Now we add tomato sauce to them, season with salt and pepper, and mix everything well. If the mushroom goulash seems too thick, you can add a little water.
- Tomato paste: 2 g
- Salt: to taste
- Ground black pepper: to taste
6
Just a little more to simmer our goulash and it's ready — can be served!
