Chicken kebabs marinated in tkemali

90 minutes
Chicken skewers marinated in tkemali are the embodiment of traditional Georgian cuisine, where the juiciness of the meat harmoniously combines with the sweet-sour notes of the plum sauce. Tkemali not only gives the chicken a spicy flavor but also makes it tender due to its natural acidity. The marinade with onions and spices enhances the aroma, while grilling creates an appetizing crust. This dish is perfect for warm family gatherings and friendly feasts, especially when paired with fresh vegetables and Georgian wine. The simple cooking process makes the skewers accessible even for beginners, and the result consistently delights with its sophistication and traditional flair.

1
Cut the chicken into not very large pieces, add tkhemali, coarsely chopped onion, salt, and spices. Leave to marinate for at least 1 hour.

Preheat the grill well, skewer the pieces of meat, grill for 10 minutes, turn them over and leave for another 5-7 minutes until golden brown. The main thing is not to overcook it; otherwise, the meat will become dry.
