Cod cutlets are a refined dish of American cuisine that embodies the tenderness of sea fish and the aroma of fresh herbs. The history of this recipe traces back to traditional fishing settlements in New England, where cod was a primary food source. The crispy breading conceals the juicy and tender texture of the fish, infused with butter, lemon juice, and herbs. Potatoes add softness to the cutlets while celery and onion provide a hint of spiciness. These cutlets pair perfectly with mayonnaise or cream-based sauces and can be served as a standalone dish or with a side. Their flavor is sophisticated and balanced, requiring only a little time to prepare but promising gastronomic pleasure. They are suitable for both cozy family dinners and impressive presentations at festive tables.
