Wash the green beans and trim the ends. Place in boiling water and cook until done (about 25 minutes for fresh and 15 minutes for frozen). Drain the water through a colander. Cut the pods into 2-3 pieces.

Chop the onion. Heat a pan over medium heat and pour in olive oil. Wait for the oil to heat up and add the onion. Fry until the onion starts to change color and shape (slightly yellow). Add the beans and stir. The flavor of the oil and onion should transfer to the beans.
