Meat French-style with mayonnaise is a luxurious dish of Russian cuisine that captivates with its tenderness and rich flavor. Despite its French name, it originated in Russia and became popular due to the simplicity and availability of ingredients. Juicy layers of pork infused with the aromas of freshly ground pepper and salt are covered with a layer of tender onions and then generously smeared with mayonnaise, which turns into an appetizing crust when baked. The finishing touch is a generous layer of grated hard cheese that adds a creamy taste and pleasant stretchiness to the dish. Served hot, sprinkled with fresh herbs, it makes for not only a delicious but also an aesthetically appealing meal. It pairs perfectly with mashed potatoes or fresh vegetables, creating a cozy and hearty dish for family dinners or festive tables.
