Zrazy is a refined dish of Lithuanian cuisine, rooted in the traditions of stuffed meat preparation. Historically, zrazy appeared in the Middle Ages and quickly became popular due to their juiciness and rich flavor. In this recipe, beef fillet serves as the base, while a delicate filling of fried onions, mushrooms, white bread, and aromatic nutmeg adds a special zest to the dish. Zrazy are stewed in butter and mushroom broth, making them particularly juicy and fragrant. They pair perfectly with mashed potatoes or fresh vegetables, creating a harmonious dish for a cozy family dinner or festive table.
