Lazy meat with sauerkraut in German style is a cozy, rustic dish reminiscent of traditional German recipes. It features tender beef slowly stewed with onions and sour cabbage, giving the dish a bright, slightly tangy flavor. Sauerkraut not only adds acidity but also tenderizes the meat, making it surprisingly soft. Tomato paste and paprika add richness while garlic provides a hint of spice. The dish is served with a side like potatoes or bread and topped with a spoonful of sour cream and fresh herbs. It's perfect for leisurely home dinners, warming and delighting with its rich taste. The lazy preparation makes it a convenient choice for those wanting to enjoy traditional European cuisine without much hassle.

1
Take lean beef. Cut into cubes approximately 2x3 cm (can be thinner, like for beef stroganoff).
- Beef: 800 g
2
Slice medium onions into half rings.
- Onion: 3 pieces
3
Heat vegetable oil in a pot. Add the meat to it. You can lightly salt it, but it's not necessary. It all depends on how sour the cabbage is.
- Vegetable oil: 1 tablespoon

Layer the onions evenly on top, and then add the sauerkraut. The layer of sauerkraut should be 3–5 cm thick, depending on the diameter of the pot.

- Sauerkraut: 500 g
5
Pour water to cover the layer of cabbage. Cover with a lid and bring to a boil.
- Sauerkraut: 500 g
