Eggs baked in buns

Eggs baked in rolls are a cozy and nutritious dish of Ukrainian cuisine, easy to prepare and incredibly tasty. The idea of baking eggs in bread has roots in traditional village cooking, where every grain of food was used wisely. A crispy sesame roll soaked in cream and aromatic herbs becomes the perfect shell for a tender egg. Topped with parmesan, the baked yolk reveals its richness, while the greens add freshness. This dish can be served for breakfast or as an original appetizer, pairing it with vegetables or sauces. The toasted roll hides a warm, stretchy egg inside – true comfort in every bite.

1
Cut the top off each bun and carefully remove some of the soft bread to create a hollow large enough to hold an egg.
- Sesame bun: 1 g
2
Place the rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Set the tops of the rolls aside. Crack one egg into each roll.
- Chicken egg: 1 piece
3
Sprinkle with greens on top and add a bit of cream. Also, add salt and pepper to taste, a pinch of each. The finishing touch will be cheese. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees until the eggs are done, about 20-25 minutes.
