Fried tomatoes in cheese batter are a gourmet dish of Mediterranean cuisine, combining the freshness of tomatoes with the rich flavor of melted cheese. Fried to a golden crust, they acquire a crispy texture, while the delicate cheese batter adds creamy depth to the taste. This dish evokes the sunny coasts of Italy and Spain, where simple ingredients turn into culinary masterpieces. The light spiciness of paprika and garlic makes it an ideal choice for a tasty appetizer or a side dish for meat and seafood. Fried tomatoes pair especially well with a glass of white wine or fresh bread, creating a harmony of flavors. Such a dish is delightful to prepare and serve at cozy family dinners or friendly gatherings, filling the atmosphere with warmth and hospitality.

1
Wash the tomatoes, dip them in boiling water for a few seconds, and peel the skin. Slice them into rounds, sprinkle with paprika, garlic, and black or red pepper to your liking.
- Tomatoes: 4 pieces
- Ground paprika: to taste
- Garlic: to taste
- Ground black pepper: to taste

Making batter: beat 2 eggs, mix with 2 tablespoons of sour cream or mayonnaise, add grated cheese, and mix everything thoroughly again. Optionally, the batter can be salted, but I usually don't do this as the acidity from the mayonnaise and cheese is enough.
- Chicken egg: 2 pieces
- Sour cream: 2 tablespoons
- Hard cheese: 150 g

Heat the pan, pour in oil, and wait for it to warm up well. Then dip the tomatoes in the batter and place them in the pan using a spoon or spatula. Fry the tomatoes until golden brown.
- Vegetable oil: 1 tablespoon
- Tomatoes: 4 pieces
