Onion pie with cheese is a cozy and aromatic dish of American cuisine that combines the richness of caramelized onions and the creamy texture of cheese. This pie likely originated from ancient baking traditions with simple ingredients, making it perfect for a home gathering. The crispy dough made from sour cream forms a delicate base for the juicy filling. The sweetness of the onion, enhanced by frying, pairs wonderfully with the savory notes of cheese, creating a harmony of flavors. Baked to a golden crust, this pie is best served cold when its taste fully unfolds. It suits both a cozy family dinner and as an original appetizer for guests, accompanied by fresh green salads or light sauces.
