Japanese-style zucchini
4 servings
20 minutes
Nothing complicated, just zucchini with a typical Japanese cuisine set of ingredients: teriyaki sauce, chili pepper, soy sauce and sesame seeds. True, they almost do not need cooking: only 2 minutes are allotted for heat treatment. They are very similar to smashed cucumbers, but with their own unique flavor.

1
Prepare all the ingredients.

2
Chop the onion into cubes.
- Onion: 1 head

3
Chop the chili pepper.
- Chili pepper: 0.5 piece

4
Cut the zucchini into three pieces across.
- Young zucchini: 3 pieces

5
Cut each part into six sectors. Remove the seeds.

6
Heat vegetable oil over medium heat.
- Vegetable oil: 30 ml

7
Add zucchini and onion and fry for 2 minutes.
- Young zucchini: 3 pieces
- Onion: 1 head

8
Add teriyaki sauce, soy sauce, chili pepper, and ground black pepper. Cook for another 2 minutes to make the zucchini softer but still crispy inside.
- Teriyaki sauce: 60 ml
- Soy sauce: 20 ml
- Chili pepper: 0.5 piece
- Ground black pepper: to taste

9
Roast the sesame seeds over medium heat until golden brown.
- Sesame: 2 teaspoons

10
Before serving, sprinkle the zucchini with sesame. Such zucchini can be eaten hot or cold.
- Sesame: 2 teaspoons
