Yeast-free kefir buns with eggs

Kefir buns without yeast are a simple and cozy pastry, perfect for family tea time. They originate from Russian cuisine, where housewives often used kefir instead of yeast to create soft dough. The buns turn out airy with a slight tang from the kefir, and the addition of vanillin gives them a pleasant aroma. A sugar syrup applied after baking makes the crust slightly crispy and adds an appetizing shine. They pair wonderfully with honey, jam, or butter and are great with morning coffee or warm tea. The ease of preparation and availability of ingredients make these buns an essential recipe for those who appreciate homemade pastries with natural flavor.
