Clafoutis with cherries or blueberries is a refined dessert from France that embodies rustic elegance. The light batter, similar to custard, absorbs the aroma of the berries, creating a delicate and slightly airy structure. Cherries add a refreshing tartness while blueberries provide gentle sweetness. Historically, clafoutis was made with cherries, but over time the recipe has expanded. This dessert is perfect for morning coffee or as a conclusion to dinner. Baked to a golden crust, it acquires a subtle caramel note, and the light sweetness of powdered sugar harmoniously complements the berry flavor. Its simplicity in preparation makes it a favorite among home recipes, and its elegance can adorn any table.
