Brownies with walnuts and dark chocolate are a true embodiment of American culinary classic that emerged in the early 20th century. This dessert combines the rich bitterness of dark chocolate, the tender creaminess of the batter, and the crunch of walnuts to create a rich and layered flavor. Its moist, chewy texture makes it incredibly appetizing, while chilling before serving enhances the chocolate density. An ideal treat for tea or coffee, brownies are easily adaptable – you can add caramel, berries, or a bit of sea salt for contrast. The simplicity of preparation and depth of flavor have made it a beloved dessert worldwide, reminiscent of warm evenings spent with loved ones.

1
Break the chocolate (300 grams) into pieces, place it in a bowl, and set it over a water bath. Add chopped butter to the chocolate. Melt the chocolate with the butter until smooth, stirring.
- Dark chocolate: 400 g
- Butter: 400 g
2
Add sugar, mix well, and remove the pot from the water bath. If the sugar mixture is quite hot, it should be cooled slightly before adding the eggs to prevent them from curdling. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing until smooth each time.
- Sugar: 500 g
- Chicken egg: 6 pieces
3
Sift the flour with the baking powder. Add the flour with the baking powder to the chocolate-egg mixture and mix.
- Wheat flour: 250 g
- Baking powder: 2 teaspoons
4
Chop chocolate (100 grams) and nuts, add to the dough and mix.
- Dark chocolate: 400 g
- Walnuts: 300 g
5
Grease the baking pan with oil, line it with parchment, and grease it again with a thin layer of oil. Pour the dough into the pan and smooth it out.
- Butter: 400 g
6
Bake the brownies in a preheated oven at 170 degrees for about 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out dry. The main thing is not to overbake the brownies. The layer should remain slightly moist. Remove the finished layer from the oven and cool it, or better yet, place it in the refrigerator for 8-12 hours (or overnight).
7
Cut the brownies into square pastries and serve with tea.
