Spicy cheese sticks are the perfect combination of crispy texture and rich cheese flavor with a hint of spiciness. Their roots can be found in European cuisine, where cheese snacks have always held a special place. The buttery dough base and aromatic spices create a rich flavor palette, while sea salt adds a pleasant crunch. These sticks pair excellently with a glass of wine, soup, or simply as a standalone snack. Ideal for friendly gatherings and cozy evenings, they are easy to prepare and impress with their simplicity and rich taste. The mix of hard cheeses and spices makes them special, while the ability to experiment with add-ins allows for unique variations. Toasted to a golden crust, they become an indispensable snack that offers true gastronomic pleasure.

1
Pour the flour into a bowl and add the spices.
- Wheat flour: 2 glasss
- Ground chili pepper: 0.5 teaspoon
- Cayenne pepper: 0.5 teaspoon
2
Cut the butter into cubes (it should be taken out of the fridge in advance to become warm and pliable) and add it to the flour. Rub the flour into the butter and the butter into the flour to get a crumb resembling cornmeal.
- Butter: 150 g
3
Add grated cheese to the breadcrumbs and mix thoroughly by hand.
- Hard cheese: 450 g
4
Next is a very responsible process of adding liquid (milk). The amount depends on the fat content of the cheese, for example. Slowly, with teaspoons, we add milk to the cheese-flour mixture and try to achieve a consistency that allows us to first shape a ball and then roll it into a dough sheet. The main thing is not to overdo it. If there is leftover milk (or it wasn't needed at all) - that's also correct.
- Milk: 0.5 glass
5
When we achieve what we need, we turn the oven to 220 degrees and line the greased baking tray with parchment paper.
6
Roll the dough into a layer slightly less than a centimeter thick and cut it into strips with a sharp knife. Place them tightly in rows on the baking sheet, as the specified amount of ingredients yields many strips.
7
After all the future sticks are laid out, sprinkle coarse sea salt on top (it's non-toxic and has a nice crunch). You can experiment with herbs, peppers, spices, and sesame.
- Sea salt: to taste

Bake at 200 degrees for 20 minutes.
