Baked plums are a simple yet exquisite dessert that comes to us from sunny Italy. There, fruits are valued for their natural sweetness, and minimal processing preserves their rich flavor. Baked plums become tender and juicy, while caramelized sugar highlights their natural fruit acidity balanced by a hint of lemon juice. This dish can be served warm or chilled, complemented with ice cream or yogurt for a harmonious pairing. Baked plums are wonderful as a standalone dessert or as part of an elegant breakfast. Their ease of preparation makes them an ideal choice for any occasion—be it a cozy dinner or an exquisite gathering.

Preheat the oven to 220 degrees. Grease the baking tray with vegetable oil.
