Sour cream cake is a delicate and airy treat rooted in British baking traditions, where rich flavor and simplicity are valued. Its texture is soft and moist thanks to the sour cream, while its light sweetness makes it an ideal complement to morning tea or a cozy evening by the fireplace. The classic recipe can include raisins or nuts for an extra touch. It is baked until golden brown and then dusted with powdered sugar, creating an appetizing contrast between the tenderness of the dough and the crunchy sweetness. This cake is a versatile treat that can be served as a dessert for festive tables or enjoyed with family over a cup of fragrant tea.
