Prepare the necessary ingredients.

Wash the beetroot well, place it in a pot, cover with water, and boil until cooked. Cool the cooked beetroot and peel it.

Pour 25 ml of vegetable oil into the container. Peel the onion, wash it well under running water, chop it finely, and place it in the container with the oil.

Gut the herring, remove the skin, and take out all the bones. Cut into small cubes and place on top of the chopped onion.
