Spanish-style quick rice is a vibrant and aromatic dish that embodies the spirit of Spanish cuisine. Its rich flavor is achieved through a combination of sweet tomatoes, spices, and butter, creating a harmonious and spicy note. The simplicity of preparation makes it an ideal solution for a quick dinner without sacrificing sophistication. This dish can be served on its own, garnished with fresh green onions and cheddar cheese, or as a side to meat or seafood. Its history is linked to traditional Spanish rice dishes adapted for the modern pace of life. The lightness, richness of flavor, and tender texture make this rice indispensable in home menus.

1
Mix all the ingredients in a small pot (I usually crush the tomatoes with a potato masher or blend them in a food processor).
- Canned tomatoes: 450 g
- Chicken broth: 1.5 glass
- Rice: 1.3 glass
- Butter: 1 tablespoon
- Ground red pepper: 2 teaspoons
- Oregano: 0.8 teaspoon
- Garlic salt: 0.5 teaspoon
- Caraway: 1 teaspoon
2
Bring to a boil, reduce the heat.
3
Cover and simmer for 25 minutes or until the rice is cooked. (If you don't like sticky rice, do not lift the lid and stir until the dish is done.)
4
Sprinkle with green onions and/or cheddar cheese.
