Chicken baked with apples

Chicken baked with apples is a classic dish of Russian cuisine that combines the tenderness of meat with the fruity tartness. This flavor combination comes from traditional village recipes where fruits were often used for marinades and to add juiciness to meat. Baked apples not only fill the chicken with a rich aroma but also add softness to its texture. The preparation includes marinating with herbs, baking in foil, and achieving a golden crust, making it especially appetizing. This chicken will be an ideal choice for a cozy family dinner or festive table where its light sweetness and airy texture will captivate guests. It is served with a side of baked apples and fresh herbs.

1
We wash the chicken, place it in a dish, and drizzle with olive oil.
- Chicken breast fillet: 1 piece
- Olive oil: to taste
2
We chop the greens. We sprinkle the chicken with greens (parsley+dill) and salt it.
- Green: to taste
- Salt: to taste
3
Mix everything, cover with a lid or plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 4 hours.
4
Take the chicken out of the fridge and wipe off the herbs. Cut the apples into thin slices.
- Green: to taste
- Apple: 1 piece
5
We make deep longitudinal cuts in the chicken and stuff it with apple slices.
- Apple: 1 piece
6
Preheat the oven to maximum. Take a baking dish and line it with foil. Place the remaining apple slices on the foil and put the chicken on top.
- Apple: 1 piece
7
Wrap in foil and send to the oven for 25-30 minutes. When the apple scent fills the apartment (after 25-30 minutes), take out the dish and unwrap the foil.
8
Reduce the heat to 200 degrees and bake for another 15 minutes until done (until a light golden crust forms).
