Rösti is an iconic dish of Swiss cuisine from the German-speaking region of the country. Originally a simple yet incredibly tasty potato delicacy, it was a traditional breakfast for farmers providing them with energy for the whole day. Today, rösti is a symbol of Switzerland served as a side dish to meat or vegetarian meals. Finely grated potatoes fried to a golden crust acquire a crispy texture outside and tenderness inside. A slight saltiness and rich aroma of butter make the taste of rösti particularly cozy. This dish pairs perfectly with grated cheese, sour cream, salted or smoked fish, as well as fresh herbs. Rösti is simplicity perfected that delights with its versatility and natural richness of flavor.
