Beef cutlets are a classic dish of Russian cuisine that embodies the traditions of home family dinners. Historically, cutlets appeared thanks to French chefs, but in Russia they acquired their unique taste and texture. Beef cutlets are characterized by a rich meat flavor, tender texture, and aromatic notes of herbs. Adding milk makes the minced meat softer, while starch adds juiciness. A slight spiciness from black pepper complements the rich taste, and butter adds velvety tenderness. These cutlets pair perfectly with mashed potatoes, buckwheat, or fresh vegetables. They can be served as a main dish for dinner or as part of a sandwich at lunchtime. The simplicity of preparation makes beef cutlets an excellent option for a cozy home gathering.
