Southern Fried Chicken

30 minutes
Southern fried chicken is a true embodiment of American cuisine, rooted in the traditions of the southern states. This recipe is passed down through generations, combining a crispy golden crust with juicy, flavorful meat. The chicken is first boiled in milk for tenderness, then coated in spicy flour with cayenne pepper and dipped in beaten egg for a layered texture. The key moment is frying in hot fat, giving the dish an appetizing crust. It can be served immediately with fries and fresh salad leaves. This dish is not only nutritious but also cozy, evoking associations with family dinners and southern hospitality.

Transfer the contents of the bowl to a pot, place it over medium heat, bring to a boil, and cook the chicken until done. The milk will curdle, don't pay attention to it — the final taste of the dish is what matters. Remove the chicken and let it cool.
