Place the prepared fish in a shallow pot, cover with cold water 2 cm above its surface, add salt, cover with a lid, and set on high heat. Once the water boils, reduce to low heat and cook without boiling for 30-40 minutes (for fish pieces over 1 kg, cook for 1-1.5 hours).
