Oatmeal with dried cherries and hazelnuts is a true embodiment of morning comfort and gastronomic delight. This recipe from Russian cuisine combines the tender texture of oats, the sweetness of dried cherries, and the crunchy nutty note of hazelnuts. Spiritually warming and aromatic, it is perfect for a leisurely breakfast or restorative snack. Historically, oatmeal has been a symbol of strength and health, and its combination with cinnamon, nuts, and fruits adds an exquisite touch. It is easy to prepare: roasted nuts, cooked oats in milk, the gentle sweetness of brown sugar, and the tartness of cherries create a rich and harmonious flavor. Serving it with a drop of hazelnut oil enhances the nutty aroma, making the porridge not just a nutritious dish but also a true gastronomic pleasure.

1
Pour the hazelnuts into a small baking dish and place in an oven preheated to 170 degrees for 5 minutes. Remove, cool at room temperature, and transfer to half of a dry waffle towel. Cover the nuts with the other half and rub to remove the skins. Chop the peeled nut kernels into coarse crumbs and discard the skins.
