Transfer the cottage cheese to a bowl, mix with egg, salt, and sugar, then blend well and strain through a sieve. Place flour on the table, shape the cottage cheese mixture into balls and form syrniki using a knife or spatula while coating in flour. Arrange the prepared syrniki on a tray and refrigerate for 20 minutes. Remove from the fridge and fry over medium heat in vegetable oil until golden on both sides; then transfer to a tray and bake in the oven for 5 minutes at 180 degrees.
