Garlic bread with herbs is a fragrant and fluffy treat that captivates hearts with its rich flavor and appetizing texture. This recipe comes from Russian cuisine, where homemade baking has always held special significance. The delicate yeast dough enriched with butter and eggs becomes airy, while the filling of cheese, garlic, and fresh herbs gives it a spicy taste and enticing aroma. This bread pairs perfectly with first courses, especially soups and borscht, and can also serve as an independent treat that can adorn any table. Its crispy crust and soft, aromatic center make it indispensable in home cooking. It is made with love, and its taste is a true symphony for gourmets.

1
Mix the yeast, warm milk, sugar, and a cup of flour. Leave in a warm place.
- Dry yeast: 11 g
- Milk: 250 ml
- Sugar: 0.5 glass
- Wheat flour: 4 glasss
2
Heat the margarine in a water bath until it becomes very soft.
- Margarine: 250 g
3
Whisk the eggs.
- Chicken egg: 4 pieces
4
When the dough increases in volume, add margarine and beaten eggs, gradually adding flour to knead a soft dough — it should be very soft (to prevent sticking to hands, it's better to grease the table with vegetable oil — avoid adding extra flour). Cover the dough with a towel and leave it in a warm place to rise.
- Margarine: 250 g
- Chicken egg: 4 pieces
- Wheat flour: 4 glasss
5
Grate the cheese, add chopped herbs and garlic to it.
- Hard cheese: 100 g
- Green: to taste
- Garlic: 2 cloves
6
Heat the butter or margarine in a water bath until it becomes liquid.
- Butter: 50 g
7
Line the bread baking pan with parchment or lightly grease it with oil.
8
When the dough has risen well, you can proceed to the most interesting part. Roll out a portion of the dough into a layer about 1 cm thick, sprinkle with a mixture of cheese + herbs + garlic, roll it into a log, and then cut it into pieces as we usually cut logs. Flatten each piece with your hands and brush all sides with an oil-soaked brush or simply dip it in oil. Place in a mold and do the same with the rest. Once the mold is filled, cover it with a towel or foil and place it in a warm area for the final rise.
- Hard cheese: 100 g
- Green: to taste
- Garlic: 2 cloves
- Butter: 50 g
9
Preheat the oven to 200 degrees and place the bread inside. Check readiness with a skewer. The time varies depending on the thickness of your pieces and the size of the pan.
10
Then let the bread cool on a rack so it won't be 'wet' inside and start eating.
