Mochi is a traditional Japanese treat symbolizing luck and longevity. Its history dates back to ancient times when mochi was not just a snack but part of rituals and celebrations. This soft and chewy dough made from rice flour is slightly sweet with an airy and soft texture that literally melts in your mouth. The classic version is often filled with red bean paste called anko, but modern interpretations offer chocolate and fruit fillings. Mochi is perfect as a dessert with tea, and due to its lightness and variety of flavors, it is loved by both adults and children. When made at home, it gains a special warmth and coziness, filling the atmosphere with the spirit of Japanese hospitality.

(If you are preparing a treat for a child, add some food coloring so your balls will be colorful and fun).
