Plum Cobbler

Plum cobbler is a cozy, homemade dessert with roots in traditional European cuisine. Plums soaked in warm cinnamon and lemon tartness create a rich fruit filling reminiscent of thick jelly. The tender dough, fluffy and aromatic like a cloud, covers the berry base, allowing it to breathe during baking. The pastry develops a golden crust that crunches with each bite, complementing the juiciness of the plums. This dessert pairs perfectly with a scoop of ice cream, adding freshness and contrast. Cobbler is not just a sweet treat but a true delight that warms the soul and turns an ordinary day into a little celebration.

1
Preheat the oven to 210 degrees.
2
Cut the plums into quarters, removing the pits first.
- Plums: 500 g
3
In a small saucepan, mix plums, 1 cup of sugar, and starch, sprinkle with cinnamon, and add lemon juice.
- Plums: 500 g
- Sugar: 3 tablespoons
- Cornstarch: 2 tablespoons
- Ground cinnamon: 1 teaspoon
- Lemon juice: 1 tablespoon
4
Mix everything and place it on the stove. Cook over low heat, stirring until the mixture boils and thickens. Let it simmer for 2 minutes. The mixture will resemble jelly with pieces of plums.
- Plums: 500 g
- Sugar: 3 tablespoons
- Cornstarch: 2 tablespoons
- Ground cinnamon: 1 teaspoon
- Lemon juice: 1 tablespoon
5
Mix room temperature butter, cut into cubes, with 3 tablespoons of sugar and salt in a bowl.
- Butter: 50 g
- Sugar: 3 tablespoons
- Salt: 0.5 teaspoon
6
Add the flour mixed with baking powder there and mix well.
- Wheat flour: 1 glass
- Baking powder: 1.5 teaspoon
7
Add room temperature milk and mix again.
- Milk: 1 glass
8
Place the berry mixture in a glass or any other baking dish without greasing it with oil.
9
The mold should not be too wide, otherwise the dough will push out the filling. In other words, the layer of berry mixture should be thick enough to place the dough on it.
10
Place the dough on top of the berry mixture in 4-6 portions. Leave gaps between the dough so the berry mixture can breathe. Do not flatten the dough.
11
Place in the oven and bake for about 30 minutes or until a golden crust forms.
12
Let the cobbler cool and serve with a scoop of any ice cream.
