Layered pie with cottage cheese and greens is a delicate, airy dish with a rich, creamy flavor enhanced by the freshness of greens and the spiciness of garlic. It is believed that layered pastries in Russian cuisine emerged due to the influence of European culinary traditions but over time acquired unique features. Cottage cheese, widely used in Russia, gives the filling softness and richness while cheese adds a light salty note. This pie is perfect for cozy family breakfasts, festive gatherings or simply tea time with friends. The crispy dough, golden crust and aroma of herbs make it irresistible. It is enjoyed warm, savoring the contrast of textures and sometimes complemented with sour cream or sauces. This dish is simple to prepare yet exquisite and offers true gastronomic pleasure.
