Cherry pie with nuts is an exquisite dessert that combines delicate shortcrust pastry, rich nutty notes, and the juicy tartness of ripe cherries. Its roots can be found in classic European recipes where berries and nuts are often used to create contrasting flavors. The pie absorbs cherry juice, making it incredibly soft and fragrant, while the nuts add a crunchy texture. This pie pairs perfectly with a cup of hot tea or coffee, creating an atmosphere of coziness and enjoyment. It can be not only an everyday treat but also a decoration for the festive table. It's easy to prepare, and the possibility to experiment with berries opens up room for creativity. Sprinkled with powdered sugar, it takes on an appetizing appearance that beckons for the first bite.

Place softened butter or margarine in a bowl and beat with a mixer until creamy. Gradually add sugar, vanilla sugar, and the zest of one lemon. Then, add the eggs one by one.
- Butter: 250 g
- Sugar: 250 g
- Vanilla sugar: 2 teaspoons
- Lemon zest: 1 piece
- Chicken egg: 5 piece

Sift flour, starch, and baking powder, and gradually mix into the egg mixture. Gradually add grated almonds or hazelnuts. You can bake without nuts, in which case use 175 grams of flour and starch each. It should result in a light sandy dough. It is sticky and easily comes off the spoon.
- Wheat flour: 125 g
- Potato starch: 125 g
- Baking powder: 1 g
- Nuts: 175 g

Evenly spread the dough on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Evenly place the washed and dried cherries on the dough. Instead of cherries, you can use blueberries, a mix of red and black currants, raspberries, or any frozen berries. Bake the pie at 200 degrees for about 35 minutes.
- Cherry: 1.2 kg

To check readiness, insert a wooden stick into the center of the pie. If there are no traces of dough on it, the pie is baked. If the dough sticks, keep the pie in the oven for another 10 minutes. But it's better to cover it with foil to prevent burning on top. Cool the finished pie, sprinkle with powdered sugar, and cut into pieces.
- Sugar: 250 g
