Orange jam

Orange jam is a classic treat of British cuisine, known since Victorian times. Its rich citrus flavor with a slight tartness and gentle sweetness makes it an ideal addition to toast, croissants, and pastries. The bright aroma of oranges combines with a pleasant texture due to the use of zest rich in natural pectin. The jam not only delights the taste but is also a great source of vitamin C, helping to strengthen the immune system. In Britain, it is traditionally served with English breakfast and used for making pies and desserts. Lemons add a subtle tartness that highlights the freshness and richness of flavor nuances. This jam is easy to prepare, and its homemade version allows you to enjoy the authentic taste without unnecessary additives.

1
Grate the orange zest with a grater or remove the zest with a sharp knife without touching the peel, which contains a lot of pectin that helps thicken the jam.
- Oranges: 4 pieces
2
Peel off the remaining skin and wrap it in gauze.
3
Cut the orange slices into three horizontal pieces and remove the seeds (optional, I personally didn't remove them).
4
Blend orange segments in a blender (on the lowest speed) for about 2 minutes, adding sugar and zest.
- Oranges: 4 pieces
- Sugar: 400 g
- Lemon: 2 pieces
5
Pour the mixture into a pot and cook on low heat for 10 minutes, stirring constantly.
6
Place the prepared mixture in the refrigerator for 20 minutes.
