Melon, Red Onion, and Walnut Salad

A great example of how to serve fruit without falling into dessert sweetness. Every melon is different, we recommend trying several summer varieties and choosing the one you like best for the salad. Recipe from Julia Vysotskaya's book "In Search of Tiramisu.

Peel and slice the onion into half rings.
- Red onion: 1 head

Remove the zest from the orange and cut it into thin strips.
- Oranges: 1 piece

Squeeze juice from half an orange and half a lemon.
- Oranges: 1 piece
- Lemon: 0.5 piece

Prepare the marinade by combining orange juice, lemon juice, sugar, and vinegar.

- Brown sugar: 1 tablespoon

Put the onion in the marinade and leave for a few minutes.
- Red onion: 1 head

Mix the salad mix with orange zest.
- Mixed salad leaves: 100 g
- Oranges: 1 piece

Peel the melon and cut it into small cubes.
- Melon: 0.3 piece

Add melon, onion with marinade to the salad and mix everything.
- Melon: 0.3 piece
- Red onion: 1 head

Drizzle the salad with olive oil, season with salt and pepper, and sprinkle with nuts.
- Olive oil: 2 tablespoons
- Freshly ground black pepper: to taste
- Sea salt: to taste
