Homemade beer is a drink with a rich history rooted in the Russian tradition of unique brewing. The recipe is based on kvass wort, which gives the beer softness and a slight sourness complemented by the sweetness of sugar and lively notes of fresh yeast. The fermentation process makes the drink sparkling and refreshing, perfect for hot summer days. Homemade beer is especially popular in rural homes where it is made using family recipes and enjoyed among relatives. It pairs wonderfully with hearty dishes of Russian cuisine, enhancing them with its light, slightly bread-like flavor. This drink not only quenches thirst but also provides a sense of warmth and coziness, as if returning to a time when beer was brewed according to ancient traditions and symbolized hospitality.
