Boiled wheat groats are cracked or whole polished wheat grains (Poltava, arnautka, bulgur type) boiled in water or milk until soft, light beige, with separate springy grains and a mild bready-nutty taste. They are served as a side for meat, poultry and gravy, eaten with milk, butter and sugar for breakfast, put into soups, warm salads, fillings, crupeniki and kutia.
