
Yakiniku (Japanese BBQ) sauce is a Japanese sauce for grilled meat based on soy sauce, mirin, sugar, garlic, ginger, sesame, sesame oil, apple or pear puree and sometimes miso, dark brown, slightly thick, salty-sweet with umami, a light bite and a nutty aroma. It is used as a marinade and a dipping sauce for beef, pork, chicken, grilled vegetables and rice.
