Vietnamese coriander (rau ram, laksa leaf) is a creeping herb with narrow pointed green leaves with a dark spot, with a bright pungent taste combining coriander, mint, citrus and a light peppery bite. Fresh leaves are added without heat treatment to a bowl of pho and laksa, Vietnamese salads (goi), with boiled duck eggs (hot vit lon), spring rolls, seafood and into nam prik.
