Broccolini (baby broccoli, asparation) is a hybrid of broccoli and Chinese kale (kailan) with long thin tender stems, small loose florets and small leaves, fully edible, with a mild sweetish broccoli taste and a light asparagus note without bitterness. It is quickly blanched, sauteed, grilled and steamed as whole stems, served with garlic, lemon, olive oil and parmesan.
